2017: The year of manifestation

I decided to let January settle in, and give myself this time to work out what the theme for 2017 would be. If last year was the year of "Play" for me - then this year is the year I have to build on from this. This is the strong feeling that I am getting. So the word that I have concluded for me is: manifestation. In simpler words: make things happen!
Part of this is to create and build things from the inside world (imagination) into the outside world.
I just feel that a lot of our lives are lived in the head - and in 2016 I tried to break away from that and live it in the outside world - and trust me it was fun, exciting and scary all at the same time and I also went through a very big learning curve. One advice I will give you - which I am certain you have heard on numerous occasions - things are never what they seem!
"Be free, in your head, be free in your shots, go for it. The brave will be rewarded here". These are the words Federer told the world media, when trying to explain how he managed to turn the 5th set around and win the Australian Open.
And you know what, the same words can also apply for me and you, and the way we go about living our lives.
I simply love love love this guy, why? Because of the way he plays the game. The passion he exuberates, the love he has for tennis, and the charisma he undoubtedly has on and off the court. (In my view there is nothing more attractive then the whole essence someone portrays, and any conclusions that I have come to definitely are created because of what I "think" he's about!)
Even after 18/19 years he wakes up and is excited to play the game. I want to embody these qualities. To have passion for all that I do, for the love of the 'game of life' to being able to be excited to what I wake up to in life. Granted, it's not always going to be plain sailing, but that's ok too! Live and learn. Look at Federer's career. This Grand Slam is his first since Wimbledon 2012. So it's taken 4.5 years, and attending 17 other grand slam tournaments before winning again. The media and other players had written him off. I mean if truth be told I was a complete nervous wreck sitting at home - he had already lost the last 3 Grand Slam finals he played in - so in fact I left my flat at the start of the 5th set (which incidentally is being touted as the best set of tennis ever, just my luck!) because the pattern was (from his past Grand Slam finals, and the record he has against Nadal) that Federer would crumble, and be the runner up - again. How annoyed am I at the fact I lost faith in him at that moment. Yet, he - undoubtedly the greatest of all time - did not lose the faith he had in himself!
So for 2017 if I can take this word 'play' to being "the year of manifestation." In doing so I know I will be challenging a lot of what I know feels right, to what maybe the world will judge to what it feels is right. But isn't that the issue anyways. Other people will always give you advice and tell you to do things from their 'advantage point' - as in their point of view. It's not wrong. It's not right either. It is up to you to decide what resonates and excites your soul and your spirit. So it doesn't matter what anyone thinks of you and your life. You will have your critics and supporters, the KEY is believe in yourself, and what you want out of life, and what excites you. Thank you Federer, for that reminder!
