Motto for 2016: Play

2015 has by far been one of my best years in recent memory. And that's saying a lot.

I'm not referring to anything obtained from the external world, but more at the foundations that were planted internally during this year. Or the replanting of "self worth" seeds. Mostly post the latter part of the year.

If I am honest the first part of the year was quite flat - I can't really put a finger on why. There were moments that were fun, however I was not really engaging my spirit beyond the norms of work and social activities, and that to on a very superficial level.

The second part of the year has been more exciting. Health wise a desire to know more about food and exercise has resulted in (good) changes. Workwise I explored international opportunities, which in the end didn't "feel"right, yet I learnt (and still learning) a lot about what I truly want. Also certain personal relationships fell by the wayside and rightfully so, as energetically we were not on the same vibrations. Rather than moan and dwell on this, I've accepted that life has a path that's consistently being presented in front of me, and it's about making choices at that moment to what "feels" right. It is also about learning and being mindful. Some days this isn't easy, because of concerns, worries and general day to day habits, but the key to building on this is "awareness".

What you may come to know of me - especially as it's the name of my blog - I do not believe in boxing our lives and experiences or tagging them with labels. This is because this would mean shutting down potential experiences that we have already closed our mind and hearts too. Imagine living boxed with a certain set of rules. It becomes tiring and boring to be in such an environment. You can live in a box, but choose to explore that box and make your own rules. Exploration is the best way to live and learn.

Life in general is constant change, so why keep yourself in a box of other people's rules? If it works for you, great, be happy. If it doesn't, make the change. The person that we were yesterday is different to who we are today, and who we will become tomorrow. Doesn't that sound exciting? Life should be exciting and more about exploration and play, as one day this life you have will come to an end.

It's a shame that the concept of "play" is only considered to be for children, why not adults? All I know is that I have no idea as to when my time on this planet is up, so why would I not check in with myself on this New Years Eve about what I want to explore in 2016! Playing allows the mind to explore and hopefully without judgement.

Therefore I'm quite looking forward to what is in store, as I have decided I want to "play" a lot more. I finish by wishing you all a fabulous new year and here's to more life experiences that enrich the soul even more in 2016!

Wishing you all love, happiness and growth. With this; go and play!

MY LIFE MOTO:

#1

Drop the labels.

Labels will box you in, and not give the soul a sense of freedom. Live with what makes you happy. If the soul is content, then life will appear magical.

#2

Be true to you.

You are unique and not like anyone else, so make your own rules. Be guided in life, but carve your own path.

#3

Live the now.

We all have plans, but if you are not fully immersed in the now and are only worrying about tomorrow, then today will never be 100% fully realised.
